What if she already has a cheese board?
Most mums have a plain slab that came free with something. This is a set — knives, bowls, and in the Two-Drawer's case, drawers that hold all of it. It tends to replace the old one rather than sit next to it. And if it genuinely isn't right, non-personalised boards can go back within 30 days.
She'll say we spent too much on her. Then what?
Nothing stops a mum saying it. But two boards cost what one does while the offer is on, and what she'll actually fix on is her name cut into the front — which isn't a thing you can put a price on to argue with.
Is this a safe bet for a mother-in-law?
It's one of the few gifts that reads as thoughtful without being personal in a risky way — no sizes, no scents, no guessing her taste in jewellery. If you're not sure about engraving her name, engrave the family name or leave it plain; it's a good present either way.

Yes. Use Add Personalisation on the product page, then email the file to hello@sowood.com. If you'd like to see a proof before we cut it, ask on your order and the team will send one.
Do I need a discount code for the second board?
No. Add two eligible boards to the cart and the lower-priced one comes off automatically. There's no code and no minimum spend. If you don't see it, check both items are from the Buy 1 Get 1 Free collection.
Which of the two boards is the free one?
The lower-priced one. If you buy two of the same board you're paying half for each. If you pair the £89.95 Luxe Board with a £59.95 board, it's the £59.95 board that comes off.
How long does delivery take?
Allow 1–3 business days for us to process the order, then 2–5 business days for standard delivery within the UK. Express is available at checkout for an extra cost. Personalised boards add 1–3 days in production, so leave extra time for those.
Will it survive being actually used?
Bamboo is hard-wearing and takes daily use well. Wipe it rather than soaking it, and re-oil it occasionally. So Wood sells a food-grade Wood Preservation Oil for £7.50 if you want to tuck one in — one bottle covers both boards.
Is it too big for a small kitchen?
The Two-Drawer measures 44.3 × 33 × 4cm closed and the Deluxe 42.5 × 32.5 × 3.5cm, so both sit flat in a cupboard or stand on edge. Neither needs a butler's pantry to store.
How long is the buy-one-get-one offer running?
There's no published end date at the moment. It's live now, and we wouldn't count on it still being there in December.
